Finlandia Seaways ran aground yesterday evening in Karmsundet outside Haugesund. The ship was on its way to Poland with air defense to protect the Rzeszow-Jasionka airport, which is located near the border with Ukraine. Norway is sending an air defense system and fighter jets to secure the airport, in addition to a hundred soldiers. – We have received no reports of damage to either personnel or material, we are of course happy about that, says Hanne Olafsen, press officer for the Norwegian Armed Forces’ operational headquarters (FOH), to news. It was Forsvarets Forum that first mentioned the matter. On Wednesday, the boat was in Trøndelag where the military equipment was loaded on board. – We’re on our way there, and no one is going off duty before we arrive to take over. That there will be some delay is natural. We are working as quickly as we can to get down, says Olafsen
