The national outbreak of Salmonella is increasing in scope. A further 26 people have been confirmed infected. In total, there are now 49 infected people in Norway, writes the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. – The increase in the number of infected people is not unexpected, and the suspicion of organic alfalfa sprouts as the source of the outbreak has been strengthened, says acting section leader Umaer Naseer for infection control and preparedness at FHI.
