On Thursday morning, a patrol from the UN peacekeeping force Unifil was fired upon in southern Lebanon. Unifil writes this itself in a statement. The statement states that two or three unknown perpetrators fired around 30 shots at the patrol. No one was injured. The peacekeeping force also returned fire. Ahead of the shots, the Unifil patrol discovered ammunition lying by the side of the road. They notified armed Lebanese forces. It is not known whether there is any connection between the notification and the shooting.
