– Just after midnight, a dead person was found in the search area, who has been identified as the missing man, writes operations manager Karl Erik Thomassen at Troms police district at 03.40 on Monday morning. The next of kin have been notified. The operations manager tells news that it was air forces that found the deceased. – He was found by a rescue helicopter, says Thomassen. The person had not returned home to their place of residence before it got dark. – It is basically an older fit man in his 80s. He went out for a walk today, probably in the morning, and didn’t come home until it got dark, so then relatives became worried, operations manager in the Troms police district, Eirik Kileng, told news on Sunday. Kileng stated that it was relatives who reported the man missing, and that they last had contact with the person concerned at 2pm on Sunday. – We have located the person’s car, Kileng said further. There is poor mobile coverage in the area. While the search operation was underway, there must have been good search conditions in the area in question. – The rescue helicopter deployed a drone crew from the police. A search operation was launched from both the rescue helicopter and personnel on the ground, stated the on-duty rescue manager at the Main Rescue Centre, Bård Mortensen.
