Stax en est sorti plus tard.  Le nom est compos\u00e9 des premi\u00e8res lettres des noms de famille des fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs.<\/p>\n<p>Le label a d\u00e9fini les tendances de la musique soul dans les ann\u00e9es 1960 et 1970 et a contribu\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement de Mephis soul.  Entre autres, Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes et Carla Thomas y \u00e9taient sous contrat.  Le groupe maison du label \u00e9tait Brooker T. &#038; the MG&#8217;s.
