Le double finaliste s&#8217;est inclin\u00e9 sur terre battue \u00e0 Paris face au num\u00e9ro 87 mondial Hugo Dellien : 3-6, 2-6 et 4-6.<\/p>\n<p>Thiem, 28 ans, n&#8217;est jamais entr\u00e9 dans le match au Court Simonne-Mathieu et a \u00e9t\u00e9 break\u00e9 en d\u00e9but de set par son homologue Dellien, qui n&#8217;a atteint le deuxi\u00e8me tour de Roland Garros que pour la deuxi\u00e8me fois de sa carri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>Pour Thiem, l&#8217;\u00e9limination pr\u00e9coce \u00e0 Paris est un nouveau b\u00e9mol cette saison.  L&#8217;Autrichien, qui a atteint la finale de Roland Garros en 2018 et 2019, est loin de son meilleur niveau depuis qu&#8217;il s&#8217;est gravement bless\u00e9 au poignet en juin dernier.<\/p>\n<p>Thiem n&#8217;a plus gagn\u00e9 un seul match depuis son retour en mars dernier : la d\u00e9faite face \u00e0 Dellien est d\u00e9j\u00e0 la septi\u00e8me d\u00e9faite cons\u00e9cutive pour le vainqueur de l&#8217;US Open en 2020. Il est retomb\u00e9 \u00e0 la 194e place du classement mondial.<\/p>\n<p>Avant Roland Garros, Thiem a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu&#8217;il n&#8217;avait pas trop d&#8217;espoir pour sa participation.  &#8220;J&#8217;ai eu la partie la plus difficile, mais je ne joue pas encore bien. J&#8217;esp\u00e8re que je pourrai \u00eatre \u00e0 nouveau \u00e0 mon meilleur niveau l&#8217;ann\u00e9e prochaine. Je dois surtout am\u00e9liorer mon tennis et rester positif.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Le tournoi principal de Roland Garros a d\u00e9but\u00e9 dimanche.  Botic van de Zandschulp et Tallon groenpoor seront \u00e9galement en action lors de la premi\u00e8re journ\u00e9e du tournoi du Grand Chelem.
