This is urgent. If you have any information on him or how we can reach him, please reach out to this number.’ My dad died in 2021. These messages started going around mid-2024. Everyone\u00a0should know he’s dead by now. But the calls didn’t stop.<\/p>\n They started calling my stepmom, calling people my dad had never met, and people he had almost no connection to whatsoever. Those who did answer told the caller he was dead. Those who don’t answer simply ignore it and block them.<\/p>\n But they still don’t stop.\u00a0I never called the number back myself. I was too damn terrified to do anything about it, to be honest. Just the number of times they called, the people they called, and how they seemed to know everyone who ever had anything to do with him. Yet, they didn’t know or care that he was dead, and there was no way to reach him. I learned through some research that it was likely debt collectors who either hadn’t gotten the message or were trying to con one of us into taking on his debt.
