Selon le chef, qui dirige le CIO depuis 2013, les Jeux olympiques &#8220;b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d&#8217;un changement de direction&#8221;. Bach l\u2019a annonc\u00e9 samedi, rapportent les agences de presse internationales.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;avocat allemand a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu&#8217;on lui avait demand\u00e9 de rester apr\u00e8s son deuxi\u00e8me mandat, mais qu&#8217;il avait refus\u00e9. La charte actuelle fixe \u00e9galement \u00e0 douze ans la dur\u00e9e maximale du mandat des pr\u00e9sidents. Des sp\u00e9culations circulaient depuis octobre dernier quant \u00e0 savoir si la charte serait amend\u00e9e pour permettre un troisi\u00e8me mandat.<\/p>\n<p>Un nouveau pr\u00e9sident sera \u00e9lu \u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes en mars prochain. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, aucun candidat n\u2019a ouvertement exprim\u00e9 son int\u00e9r\u00eat pour le poste. L&#8217;\u00e9ventuel successeur de Bach entrera en fonction en juin 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Bach a fait carri\u00e8re comme escrimeur et a remport\u00e9 l\u2019or au fleuret avec l\u2019\u00e9quipe ouest-allemande aux Jeux de 1976.
