Malgré un carton rouge pour le milieu de terrain Rodri, Manchester City n’a commis aucune erreur face à Nottingham Forest à domicile samedi : 2-0. L’international néerlandais Nathan Aké a remplacé les champions nationaux anglais.
City est sorti des blocs de départ et, grâce à Phil Foden et Erling Haaland, a mené 2-0 en quinze minutes. D’autres occasions de porter le score à 3-0 ont été manquées, même si City a dominé toute la première mi-temps.
Peu après la mi-temps, Rodri a reçu un carton rouge direct. L’Espagnol a donné une forte poussée à son adversaire Morgan Gibbs-White et a pu immédiatement intervenir. En conséquence, Rodri ratera l’important match à l’extérieur contre Arsenal.
Même face à dix, Manchester City n’a rencontré aucun problème. La formation de l’entraîneur Josep Guardiola compte donc dix-huit points en six matchs et est la seule équipe anglaise à ne pas perdre de points. L’ancien joueur du PSV Ibrahim Sangaré a débuté à Nottingham Forest.
Crystal Palace et Fulham ont fait match nul 0-0, tandis que Luton Town et Wolves ont fait match nul 1-1. Aucun Néerlandais n’a joué dans aucun des deux matches.
