El hombre estuvo atrapado en la isla durante tres d\u00edas antes de ser liberado de su dif\u00edcil situaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<article class=\"embed-block\">\n<section class=\"web-embed body-style body-style--s1 embed-block__content\"\/><\/article>\n<aside class=\"banner banner--wsc-r1 banner--hide-double-column\"\/>\n<div class=\"textblock paragraph\">\n<p>La operaci\u00f3n de rescate tuvo lugar el 18 de agosto.  La Guardia Costera de Estados Unidos anunci\u00f3 el martes que se trata de un holand\u00e9s y comparti\u00f3 fotograf\u00edas de la operaci\u00f3n de rescate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"textblock paragraph\">\n<p>La guardia costera atrap\u00f3 al hombre despu\u00e9s de que se dispararan bengalas contra un velero hundido cerca de Cay Sal.  Los rescatistas volaron a la isla en helic\u00f3ptero y le dieron comida, agua y una radio para comunicarse.  Luego lo sacaron de la isla en un bote salvavidas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"textblock paragraph\">\n<p>El holand\u00e9s afirm\u00f3 que hab\u00eda tenido problemas con su velero y que llevaba tres d\u00edas en la isla.  Las fotos lo muestran escribiendo &#8220;SOS&#8221; en la arena.  Tambi\u00e9n hab\u00eda hecho un escondite con la ayuda de una l\u00e1mina de pl\u00e1stico.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"textblock paragraph\">\n<p>Seg\u00fan la Guardia Costera, se encontraba &#8220;en buen estado de salud&#8221;.  &#8220;Estamos orgullosos de haber salvado la vida de este hombre&#8221;, afirm\u00f3 un empleado.
