Su esposa Isabel Fonseca le dijo al peri\u00f3dico estadounidense que Amis muri\u00f3 de c\u00e1ncer de es\u00f3fago en su casa en Lake Worth, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIngenio mis\u00e1ntropo\u201d, cerrado <em>Los New York Times<\/em> Amis por favor.  El hecho de que su padre, Kingsley Amis, tambi\u00e9n fuera escritor, le llam\u00f3 la atenci\u00f3n al comienzo de su carrera, pero su obra m\u00e1s conocida no le sigui\u00f3 hasta mediados de la d\u00e9cada de 1980 con la &#8216;Trilog\u00eda de Londres&#8217; de <em>Dinero: una nota de suicidio<\/em>, <em>Campos de Londres<\/em> y <em>La informaci\u00f3n<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de novelas, Amis tambi\u00e9n escribi\u00f3 no ficci\u00f3n y ensayos, y particip\u00f3 activamente en debates sociales.
