El premio es la distinci\u00f3n a la mejor novela original en neerland\u00e9s del a\u00f1o pasado e incluye un cheque por valor de 50.000 euros y una medalla de bronce dise\u00f1ada por Irma Boom.  Los autores flamencos Yves Petry y Peter Terrin tambi\u00e9n fueron preseleccionados.
