Ten\u00eda 59 a\u00f1os.  &#8220;Con gran pesar en el coraz\u00f3n, la familia de Otis Redding III confirma que perdi\u00f3 la batalla contra el c\u00e1ncer anoche&#8221;, escribi\u00f3 la hermana del fallecido, Karla Redding-Andrews, en una publicaci\u00f3n de Facebook el mi\u00e9rcoles (19 de abril). Junto con su hermano Dexter, lanz\u00f3 seis \u00e1lbumes de estudio bajo el nombre de The Reddings.  Tambi\u00e9n cant\u00f3 las canciones de su padre en la gira.
