El colombiano, nacido en 1994, siempre ha corrido en la selecci\u00f3n kazaja salvo el par\u00e9ntesis de 2021 en el Movistar y hab\u00eda finalizado la \u00faltima Vuelta en cuarta posici\u00f3n (3\u00ba en el Giro de Italia y en la Vuelta de 2018).  El equipo formaliz\u00f3 la decisi\u00f3n con un comunicado en el que hablaba de los posibles, m\u00e1s bien probables v\u00ednculos del ciclista con el pol\u00e9mico m\u00e9dico Marcos Maynar Mari\u00f1o, profesor de la Universidad de Extremadura, detenido el 11 de mayo y luego en libertad, investigado por presuntos delitos de narcotr\u00e1fico y lavado de dinero.
