Assefa, de 28 a\u00f1os, llegaba tras los tradicionales 42.195 kil\u00f3metros a un tiempo de 2.15.37.  Solo la keniana Brigid Kosgei y la brit\u00e1nica Paula Radcliffe hab\u00edan sido m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"article-page__paragraph\">  Kosgei estableci\u00f3 el r\u00e9cord mundial hace tres a\u00f1os en Chicago con 2:14.04.  Esto la hizo m\u00e1s de un minuto m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida que el tiempo m\u00e1ximo anterior, que estaba a nombre de Radcliffe.  Corri\u00f3 en Londres en 2013 con un tiempo de 2:15:25. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article-page__paragraph\">  Assefa no era uno de los favoritos en Berl\u00edn.  Cay\u00f3 casi 20 minutos por debajo de su mejor marca personal, que se situ\u00f3 en 2.34.01.
