As\u00ed lo informaron este mi\u00e9rcoles las agencias de noticias internacionales.  Wickremesinghe fue primer ministro del pa\u00eds del sur de Asia bajo el presidente anterior, que estaba bajo fuertes cr\u00edticas de la poblaci\u00f3n. Wickremesinghe recibi\u00f3 134 votos en el parlamento de 225 esca\u00f1os.  El principal candidato de la oposici\u00f3n recibi\u00f3 82 votos.  &#8220;Agradezco al parlamento por este honor&#8221;, dijo el nuevo presidente de 73 a\u00f1os, seg\u00fan la agencia de noticias Reuters.  Wickremesinghe tiene mucha experiencia pol\u00edtica: antes de su presidencia, sirvi\u00f3 seis mandatos como Primer Ministro de Sri Lanka. <\/p>\n<p>La semana pasada, fue designado presidente interino del pa\u00eds.  Wickremesinghe se llev\u00f3 los honores porque su antecesor Gotabaya Rajapaksa huy\u00f3 del pa\u00eds.
