El club tradicional hab\u00eda ganado el campeonato alem\u00e1n en 1903, 1906 y 1913.<\/p>\n<p>Durante mucho tiempo, no se aclar\u00f3 claramente la cuesti\u00f3n de a qu\u00e9 club se pueden atribuir estos t\u00edtulos.  Ya hace cinco a\u00f1os hubo primeras ambiciones hacia la estrella del campeonato, pero en ese momento hab\u00eda dos clubes separados, VfB Leipzig y Lokomotive Leipzig, que podr\u00edan referirse a las mismas ra\u00edces.
