Sorprendentemente, Van Gerwen perdi\u00f3 7:10 contra el australiano Damon Heta el jueves por la noche y perdi\u00f3 as\u00ed las \u00faltimas posibilidades te\u00f3ricas del primer puesto.<\/p>\n<p>Antes de van Gerwen, el campe\u00f3n mundial Smith y los profesionales de talla mundial Peter Wright (Escocia) y Gerwyn Price (Gales) ya hab\u00edan sido expulsados \u200b\u200bdel torneo.  Como n\u00famero uno en la lista de cabezas de serie, Smith tiene la ventaja de no tener que jugar contra los n\u00fameros dos y tres del mundo hasta la final de la Copa del Mundo.
