Brug siempre me bajo de la bicicleta para contemplar el Amstel y pensar en esa escena de <i>Los diamantes son para siempre <\/i>(1971), en la que James Bond cruza a toda velocidad los canales en un coche amarillo mientras se draga el cad\u00e1ver de una dama del Amstel (pasa un barco tur\u00edstico llamado &#8216;Pr\u00edncipe Willem Alexander&#8217;).\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"artstyle__paragraph \" data-element-id=\"3ac72ffc-20d9-44a4-ac9a-f5d42790b408\">\n<p>      Mis pensamientos fueron interrumpidos por fuertes chillidos y risitas.  Cuando mir\u00e9 hacia atr\u00e1s vi a dos chicas intentando subir el puente en t\u00e1ndem.  Eso no sali\u00f3 nada bien.  El t\u00e1ndem casi se cae cada vez.  Las chicas bajaron con dificultad y se gritaban en un alem\u00e1n ininteligible, probablemente b\u00e1varo.\n    <\/p>\n<div class=\"artstyle__container\" data-element-id=\"f4594e4e-d804-4f1b-b911-cdbac3acc9b0\">\n<div class=\"artstyle__container__body\">\n<p class=\"artstyle__container__text\" data-element-id=\"0ec3-181a-0bcc-9ac0-1881-21c6-bc81-3643\">\n      <b>Sobre el Autor<\/b><br \/>Sylvia Witteman prescribe <i>de Volkskrant <\/i>columnas sobre la vida diaria.\n    <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"artstyle__paragraph \" data-element-id=\"ce01ff49-27a0-4bf4-bf09-b68b0ab07099\">\n<p>      Nunca entend\u00ed por qu\u00e9 los turistas alquilan t\u00e1ndems.  Incluso el simple hecho de andar en bicicleta es un desaf\u00edo en el centro de la ciudad, y hacerlo en bicicleta t\u00e1ndem es a\u00fan m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil.  \u00bfQuiz\u00e1s esas chicas proced\u00edan de un pueblo de monta\u00f1a y nunca hab\u00edan aprendido a montar correctamente?  \u00bfY hab\u00edan pensado en sus peque\u00f1as y tontas mentes que seguramente dos pueden hacerlo mejor que uno?\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"artstyle__paragraph \" data-element-id=\"aaf708e8-739d-4b79-9d77-e3e4f4580e6c\">\n<p>      Con gestos inseguros volvieron a subir.  Eran j\u00f3venes, de 17 o 18 a\u00f1os, con el pelo suelto y las mejillas sonrosadas.  En ese momento empez\u00f3 el timbre que todo holand\u00e9s reconoce: un aviso de que el puente se est\u00e1 abriendo.  Todos corrieron hacia el otro lado, pero las chicas todav\u00eda luchaban por subir al medio de ese puente.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"artstyle__paragraph \" data-element-id=\"52e2a8cb-1f7f-4854-93f3-f7987608eed3\">\n<p>      &#8220;Dense prisa, chicas, es la apertura&#8221;, grit\u00f3 un hombre que pasaba, un tipo cuadrado y con la cabeza rapada, y comenz\u00f3 a tirar de las manos de la chica que estaba detr\u00e1s.  Ten\u00eda buenas intenciones, pero ella se sorprendi\u00f3 por su apariencia retorcida y se alej\u00f3.  La otra chica, que acababa de subirse a la silla, perdi\u00f3 el equilibrio y el control del manillar, lo que provoc\u00f3 que todo el t\u00e1ndem saliera disparado del puente en \u00e1ngulo.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"artstyle__paragraph \" data-element-id=\"57a85806-46ce-4990-8092-62c42c442f18\">\n<p>      P\u00e1nico.  La gente se dispers\u00f3, las ni\u00f1as gritaron, el t\u00e1ndem adelant\u00f3 por poco a un cochecito, cruz\u00f3 el canal hacia Kerkstraat y luego cay\u00f3 al suelo.  Parec\u00eda el crucero blindado Potemkin.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"artstyle__paragraph \" data-element-id=\"e41d9dd4-8c65-4374-a219-af1b7fceb17a\">\n<p>      All\u00ed yac\u00edan las ni\u00f1as, sobre los adoquines.  La de delante se levant\u00f3, pero la de atr\u00e1s se qued\u00f3 abajo, agarr\u00e1ndose la rodilla p\u00e1lida como una s\u00e1bana y gimiendo algo doloroso en b\u00e1varo.  Intent\u00f3 levantarse, pero inmediatamente cay\u00f3 sobre los adoquines, llorando.  El manillar del t\u00e1ndem estaba doblado.  El tr\u00e1fico pasaba indiferente ante la lamentable escena.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"artstyle__paragraph \" data-element-id=\"78775735-0ce4-4f35-9676-17ea949e1bd6\">\n<p>      \u00a1Pobres chicas!  \u00a1Y ten\u00edan tantos planes para hoy!
