El tenista profesional de 28 a\u00f1os perdi\u00f3 en el torneo de tierra batida en Belgrado contra el australiano John Millman 3: 6, 6: 3, 4: 6 y fue eliminado en la primera ronda.<\/p>\n<p>Para Thiem fue la primera aparici\u00f3n en un torneo ATP desde junio de 2021. Despu\u00e9s de eso, el campe\u00f3n del US Open 2020 tuvo que hacer una pausa prolongada debido a una complicada lesi\u00f3n en la mano.<\/p>\n<p>A finales de marzo, Thiem disput\u00f3 su primer partido oficial tras el largo par\u00f3n en el torneo Challenger de Marbella, pero perdi\u00f3 claramente en dos sets ante el desconocido argentino Pedro Cachin.
