Together with his brother Simen (20), Daniel Andersen has become known for running one of Norway’s largest YouTube channels and for his enormous commitment to bullying. Both brothers were affected by the muscle disease Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Today, Simen published a post on Facebook in which he says that his brother is dead. “Unfortunately, today came the day we were all dreading, Daniel fell asleep peacefully in the intensive care unit at Skien hospital,” he says. I am incredibly impressed by what they achieved on YouTube and how brave they were who stood up to the extreme onlineness they experienced for a period there, says Christer Sev to news. Christer Sev filmed the brothers over two years. – That they did not give up but turned it around so that they should fight back and stand up for others who were not as strong as them, says Sev. The brothers have won several awards. Among other things, the award “the year’s opinion bearer” at Gullsnutten in 2017 and has had several appearances. They have also been behind the “inclusion day” in Bamble. The documentary Daniel and Simen was shown on news in 2019. Mayor of Bamble, Hallgeir Kjeldal, received the message with a heavy heart. He tells about a young man who has been a role model for many. – Both Simen and Daniel have really stood up as symbols that even if you have a handicap, it is not an obstacle. I have met them in several contexts and I must say they have impressed me in the way they have promoted everyone who does not have the same opportunities, says Hallgeir Kjeldal to Varden.
