Youth throwing goat at sea at Storholmen in Sula- police investigate for animal cruelty – news Møre og Romsdal – Local news, TV and radio

The youth lured the goat out on the pier and then threw her into the sea at Storholmen outside Langevåg. The whole thing was filmed and the video is often shared on social media. The police are now investigating the case because they suspect violence or animal cruelty. Animal cruelty to the police is involved. – The video speaks for itself. There is talk of throwing an animal at sea and it can openly be traumatic and harmful to the animal, says Anders Skorpen-Trøen, police inspector at Møre og Romsdal police district. It was Sunnmørsposten that first mentioned the case. The police have a suspect and say that it seems as if there were more people present. They are now investigating this. Randi Alnes is a daily camper in Nymarkbakken kindergarten. Here they have both hens, rabbits and goats, but now the goats are grazing on Storholmen. Photo: Tore Ellingseter / news Bottle up in kindergarten – I get unwell from the video and I think it’s awful that people can think of doing something like that, says Randi Alnes. She is a daily camper in Nymarkbakken kindergarten. The goat that ended up in the sea has been bottled up by the kindergarten children, along with two other goats. The goats are now placed in the open-air area Storholmen to keep the vegetation down. The close contact with the children has made the animals safe and social. – We have not told the children yet since many are on holiday, says Alnes. She is happy that the goat did not drown, and does not think the perpetrator understands what the consequence could have been. – Many are very angry now. A possible punishment from the police is the smallest punishment compared to how they are viewed by the village and the surrounding area, says Alnes. Can not swim far For farmer Knut Dybvik, this is the third time he experiences that his animals are bothered. In 2019, more goats were soiled with ketchup, another year a goat was lifted into the air and thrown down into the ground, so that she got a broken bone. – There is nothing that amazes me anymore, but it is sad that the animals are not allowed to go in peace, says Dybvik. The goat that was thrown into the sea survived, but Djupvik does not know how it went. Goats can not swim very far. The farmer believes that the young people have either helped her on land or that the goat has had luck and come ashore himself. Now he dares not have animals on the island anymore. – We will move them in a few days. There is no point in doing this, says Dybvik. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority is familiar with the case.
