In the video, Løtvet says that she does not want to comment on the ongoing conflict and war in Israel and Palestine. Rather be quiet, says Hadaoui. He points out that influencers have power. – Everyone knows that influencers choose issues they themselves care about, just like myself, says the comedian known from the news program Svart Humor. Yousef Hadaoui reacts to the influencer Linnea Løtvet posting a video in which she says she does not want to say anything. She has almost 350,000 followers on TikTok and over 60,000 on Instagram. – I think the criticism has the wrong focus. The focus should be on helping to bring about peace where the conflict is taking place, not on forcing me or other influencers to take sides or express themselves, she says. Among them Hkeem, Sophie Elise and Fetisha Williams. Løtvet believes her message in the video has been misunderstood. – In the world we live in, it is merciless to be misunderstood. I have no intention of becoming a more politically active person because I am an influencer, says Løtvet. Reacting to different attention Since the start of the war on October 7, at least 1,400 Israelis and 7,000 Palestinians have been killed. Among them are thousands of children. Yousef Hadaoui emphasizes that he does not know Løtvet, but reacts to her conscious choice. We see painful images from Palestine, says Hadaoui. He points to the attention surrounding the war in Ukraine, and how a case of 1,000 pets being rescued from the war-torn country in Europe received a lot of attention. – I really don’t like children feeling discriminated against. This affects me. We have to step up and speak loudly about this terrible war too, says the comedian. Linnea Løtvet understands that she and other influencers have great influence, but asks that the focus be changed. – I think the focus should be on promoting and helping, rather than attacking each other for being unsure of how to position oneself on the topic, she says.
