– You have to toughen up – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcast schedule

– At some point last year I asked him to step up. It happens that he wins and doesn’t seem so madly happy. That’s what Karoline Nilsen says about roommate Halvor Egner Granerud in an interview with news. When the skiing star got to see the entire interview with his closest, he reacted like this: – I might feel a little hit, then. I know she thinks I’m not the best in the world at being happy, says Granerud to news. Granerud won both Hoppuka, RawAir and the world cup combined last season, but according to his girlfriend he should be more happy in interview sentences. – I get some feedback that I can be a bit grumpy in the interview. But I’d rather be sad there than pretend I’m happy when I’m not happy. But we don’t quite agree on that, says the jumping star and laughs. It all happened when Granerud was disqualified from the race in Ruka because his suit let too much air through. – I was very annoyed by it, and thought it was hopeless. That I was going to be fired for something that was an inconvenience, he says. After the race, he continued to be upset about what had happened. – Then I said “you have to toughen up”. We usually talk about him having to try to see the positive side, explains Nilsen. DUO: Halvor Egner Granerud and the Jumping team’s coach, Alexander Stöckl, together in Ruka in 2022. Then she was very clear, says Granerud. – And that helped, right? – Yes, I won the next day, so it was better than being number five, and then the dish, he replies. – The perfect jump Nevertheless, Nilsen points out that he is not negative in general. It is simply a matter of him wanting to make as good a jump as possible. – It also happens that he gets seventh place and is very happy, says the roommate. She explains that it is the ski jump itself that determines how happy Granerud will be, and not necessarily the position on the scoreboard. – Many people can get hung up on the fact that he was perceived as negative or whiny. But it is actually only Halvor who tries to make a perfect ski jump. – If I win, I’m mostly happy. There are probably more times when I don’t win, but feel that I could have won if I did things right, says Granerud. Last weekend, the world cup in jumping started in Ruka. It was a disappointing weekend for the Norwegians, but Granerud was the best Norwegian on both Saturday and Sunday, with a 16th place and a 10th place respectively. – Have you thought anything about the attitude towards this season, then? – I hope I can deliver jumps that make me happy, then, says Granerud with a sly smile.
