It was on 5 October that it became known that the celebrity investor and former Petter Stordalen partner, Magnus R\u00f8nningen, had filed a lawsuit against the former hotel owners. In the last couple of years, R\u00f8nningen has bought up large parts of the village with around 1,500 inhabitants. Among other things, the hotel in the center of V\u00e5g\u00e5mo. The background to the lawsuit is that he believes that the seller withheld information about the hall and sued the previous owner, Suat Catalg\u00f8l, for NOK 13 million. According to R\u00f8nningen, it was discovered after taking over that nine of the hotel’s 58 hotel rooms do not meet regulatory requirements for fire safety. The judgment from Vestre Innlandet District Court states that Sudacat AS must pay NOK 4.5 million to Niche Holding AS and V\u00e5g\u00e5 Nasjonalpark Holding AS. Sudacat AS must also pay 488,822 in court costs. Test in court The former hotel owner’s company, Sudacat AS, denied the allegations in court and pointed out that the company and the hotel up until the takeover had been run and maintained in a proper manner.
