On Wednesday morning, the public transport company Ruter&#8217;s ticket system was down, and travelers received an error message when trying to buy a ticket. It was also not possible to show a valid monthly ticket or apply for travel proposals. Ruter, which handles public transport in Oslo and Akershus, worked to solve the problem. &#8211; We are working to get the app up and running again as soon as possible, says Knut Martin L\u00f8ken, spokesperson for Ruter. Travelers will encounter this error message on Wednesday morning. Graphics: Routes Travelers could therefore travel without a ticket on trams, buses and subways during the period the app was down. &#8211; We recommend people to follow the app, says L\u00f8ken. Routes currently account for more than half of the country&#8217;s public transport. In 2023, 386 million boardings were registered in Oslo and Akershus. The map shows the affected area.
