They want a total of NOK 2.5 million from then Supreme Court judge Jens E. Skoghøy (69). Skoghøy went out in the media in December 2022 with accusations that he had been poisoned by his ex-wife. He claimed that the aim was to kill him. Skoghøy stated that he was poisoned over a longer period, from May to October 2022. Nataliia Skoghøy, for her part, has claimed that the reasons for Skoghøy’s changed behavior are alcohol abuse or dementia. Extraordinary incriminating statements The mood was icy cold when the parties met in the Oslo district court on Monday. They did not greet each other, and Nataliia Skoghøy never looked at her ex-husband while he spoke. Nataliia Skoghøy was very uncomfortable in the courtroom. Photo: Javad Parsa / NTB As soon as mother and son finished their explanations, they left the courtroom. Attorney for Nataliia Skoghøy, lawyer Linnéa Tereza Karlberg, opened the day in court. – It is about extraordinary incriminating statements, made in almost every newspaper in the country. This is indicated by the Norwegian record for restitution amounts, said Karlberg in his opening statement in court. Karlberg put forward a long series of claims which she believes should substantiate this. The case received enormous media attention. Nataliia Skoghøy says that she has never been hanged so much, and that it has ruined a lot for her. About her ex-husband’s claim that she allegedly poisoned him for a long period of time, Nataliia Skoghøy said that this is a flat lie and believed the accusations of attempted murder to be untrue. Karlberg put forward a long series of claims which she believes should support this. – Coincidences meant that I survived. Jens E. Skoghøy represents himself in court. He requested behind closed doors when videos that his ex-wife had taken of him on several occasions were to be played in court. – It is a serious breach of privacy, Skoghøy said of the videos. In his introductory speech, he repeated that he had been poisoned several times from May to 18 October. – Several times I have been completely drugged. It is only coincidence that made me survive. It is extremely burdensome in such a situation to be exposed to a lawsuit. Former Supreme Court judge Jens Edvin Skoghøy did not greet his ex-wife in the courtroom. Photo: Javad Parsa / NTB On 18 October he felt unwell and was admitted to Ullevål hospital. Blood samples were taken, and traces of Fenazepham, a strong Benzodiazepine, were found in his blood. – The substance Fenazepham was developed in Russia, and is not available in pharmacies. they are drugs that do not usually have a medical use, Skoghøy said. He said that there were only three possible people who could have given him the drug: – It was myself, the Supreme Court or I was given it at home. Then only one alternative is possible. Skoghøy said that no one but the plaintiffs could be behind the poisoning. – There is therefore no basis for compensation. Nataliia Skoghøy said that she has never dealt with Fenazepham. – I am a healthy woman, she said in her explanation. When directly asked if she had tried to poison her husband, she bluntly said no. – I was worried about him. – Had to answer that I was no longer ill Natataliia Skoghøy has expressed several times that the massive coverage in the media has been a great burden and devastating for her. She believes it was Skoghøy who initiated the pressure from the media. The former Supreme Court judge said he was contacted by the media in 2022. – When I was contacted by the media in December 2022, I had very good reason to tell the truth. One about alcohol intake and a rumor that I had become demented. I couldn’t leave that hanging in the air. I had to answer that I was no longer ill. When I was asked if I had been poisoned, I answered yes. Skoghøy believes that the spread in the media is due to the plaintiffs themselves. – Three press conferences have been organized by lawyer Karlberg, he said in court.
