A car has collided head-on with a bus in Halden. The accident occurred on Svinesundsveien at L\u00f8kkebergkrysset, close to Svinesundparken, at around 10.30am. There were five people in the car. – Unfortunately, two people in the car have been confirmed dead at the scene. The other three have been sent to Kalnes, says task leader Aina Eker in the East police district to news. Two of them are slightly injured. The third person is seriously injured, but stable, according to the police. At 15.45 the police report that next of kin have been notified. Halden municipality informs news that they are working to follow up people affected by the accident. – In collaboration with the police, the crisis team maps the need for help and support for those affected by the accident. Conversations are offered and further follow-up is agreed. This work will continue for the next few days, says municipal chief physician Kjersti Gj\u00f8sund. None of the people on the bus have been injured, says police chief Aina Eker to news. – We have spoken to the bus driver. He is taken care of. The road has been closed since the accident. The police expect it to reopen around 5pm. Three accidents in a short time The head-on collision on Monday is the third collision in three weeks on Svinesundsveien. This is written by Halden Arbeiderblad. On 22 July at the latest, six people were involved in a hit-and-run accident. On 21 July, four people were sent to the emergency room after a car crossed into the oncoming lane. In 2018, the newspaper wrote that the Norwegian Public Roads Administration thought the road needed a better standard. Yet nothing was done.
