The humanitarian break was originally supposed to end on Friday morning at 6. A few hours before, there were reports from Egyptian officials that it would be extended, but this was never confirmed by the parties. Around 5, the flight alert should have gone off in Israel, and the Israeli air defense reports that they should have shot down a rocket that came from Gaza. Against the background of accusations that the ceasefire has been broken, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) reports on Friday morning that the war has started again, and that they have attacked military targets in Gaza. Soon after, the Reuters news agency reported that shooting and explosions could be heard in the north of the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian news agency also confirms that Israel must have started the attack in the north. But there are also reports of attacks in the south: – At least six people are said to have been killed on Friday morning in an Israeli airstrike in Rafah, south of Gaza, says Ashraf al-Qudra, spokesman for the Hamas-run health authorities, to AFP. Mediation Egypt, the USA and Qatar have assisted in the mediation between Hamas and Israel. US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken, who is currently in the Middle East, said yesterday that Israel has always had plans to resume military operations at some point. Blinken urged Israel to put in place “humanitarian civilian protection plans” before returning to war, to avoid “further significant displacement of civilians, as well as to avoid damaging critical infrastructure, such as hospitals, power stations and water plants. Israel has previously stated that it will extend the ceasefire by one day for every tenth Israeli hostage Hamas releases. He believes that Hamas has had the most to gain from the ceasefire: – Militarily, it is the defending party, Hamas, that has had the most to gain from. Especially psychologically and mentally, it is exhausting not knowing where you will be attacked, and Hamas probably has limited opportunities to move. According to Halsne, the ceasefire has been used to negotiate, but also to appease soldiers, bring in supplies, and maintain and repair military equipment. Hostage exchange So far, Hamas has released 105 hostages since the war broke out. On the Israeli side, 240 Palestinians have been released from Israeli prisons. On Thursday, 30 Palestinians were released, against eight Israeli hostages, according to the Times of Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu states on Friday morning that the fighting has resumed on the basis of Palestinian attacks against Israel, in addition to the fact that Hamas will not have fulfilled its demands in the hostage exchange yesterday, without specifying how. Over 15,000 Palestinians have been killed in the war so far, according to Hamas-controlled health authorities in the Gaza Strip. Over 6,000 will be children. On the Israeli side, over 1,200 have been killed, according to Israeli authorities. Most were killed on 7 October, when Hamas attacked Israel.
\n

\n
ttn-69 <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The war between Israel and Hamas has started again, after seven days of ceasefire.
