Eight years ago, the brothers made a dream come true. The small French bakery Maison Grabot in Sandefjord saw the light of day. Since then, there have been three more cafes, in T\u00f8nsberg, Stokke and Larvik. Inflation afterwards was what put the nail in the coffin for the company. – Two crises came very close, says Mateu. The prices of the raw materials have gone up. Electricity prices skyrocketed, but the bakery did not receive electricity support. Over half of households are tightening their consumption, shows a report from the Research Institute SIFO. Customers are very conscious and look much more for price today than they did before, says Vist. More pessimism in the trade industry The trade industry is more worried now. They notice interest rate rises directly when consumers are more selective in their spending. 36 per cent of the member companies of NHO expect a weaker situation in the market in the coming months. This is revealed in NHO’s September survey. 12 percent expect an improvement. – You are a little more pessimistic about the next six months ahead than you have been in the past. There are probably many who see it as challenging, says Vist. But some things people indulge in.
