It has never been forbidden for spouses to trade shares, and therefore this does not shake the trust in Erna Solberg, says Asheim. – It is the politicians’ responsibility, but at one point or another you have to be able to trust the people you have around you. So it could have been done faster? – I don’t know that. Asheim goes through the timeline as follows: – E24 published the case with the list late on Wednesday evening. Then there was a party leader debate. And then there was the election campaign. The next morning they looked at these matters. Then one saw that this was business Solberg was not incompetent at. But on Friday they got a bad feeling. Asheim continues: – Then you understand that Finnes may not have been telling the truth when he says that he only traded a little during this period. That is why we ask for the entire list. Solberg says on Dagsrevyen that this was an extent she was not familiar with. Breach of trust A week after Høgre became this year’s election winners, the jubilation is not as great in Høgre Sindre Finnes made over 3,600 share transactions when Erna Solberg was prime minister. While Solberg closed the country in March 2020, Finne’s shares fell. Økokrim considers whether the case should be investigated. On Friday, Erna Solberg presented a list of Sindre Finnes’ stock trades during the years she was prime minister. Finnes made close to two transactions a day while living in the prime minister’s residence. Several have reacted not only to the extent of axis transactions, but also the timing of the disclosure. Solberg held a press conference four days after the election results were clear. At the press conference, Erna Solberg explained that she, like Huitfeldt, had been unknowingly incompetent. – I have been incompetent in matters I have dealt with when I was prime minister. Solberg describes it as a breach of trust and that she had been misled by her husband. When Erna Solberg became Prime Minister, the Prime Minister’s office advised Finnes not to engage in short-term share trading. He did anyway. – He has done that even though he knew he shouldn’t do it, and he knew why he shouldn’t do it.

ttn-69

In Politisk kvarter, Henrik Asheim says that both he and the central government still have confidence in Erna as party leader. – The background for this is primarily that Finnes has been dishonest.
