Stenhagen is a quiet terraced area in Uppsala and has so far escaped the violence that has hit the city recently. But now the neighbors fear what will happen in the future. – In our area it is quiet, says a woman to Expressen. – But slowly it (the violence) is starting to spread. Among other things, a whistle will be announced, and the staff will take groups of ten children each into different rooms. – It is definitely scary, and we are worried about everyone who lives in the area. We are most worried about the children, says the preschool teacher. Uppsala is located approximately 67 km north of Stockholm, and is a university city with around 166,000 inhabitants. Recently, however, it is the violence that has hit the city, which has received most of the attention. The fact that more minors also end up in the criminal environment worries the police. – There are children who are blackmailed, and who are forced to commit serious crimes with death threats, says National Police Chief Anders Thornberg. “The Kurdish fox” Uppsala is affected by an escalating conflict in the criminal network “Foxtrot”. The alleged ringleader, Rawa Majid, nicknamed “the Kurdish fox”, is in Turkey. He is suspected of financing and delegating the attacks to the criminal network from there. The shooting incidents in recent days have claimed two murder victims. A 60-year-old woman and a random 25-year-old, who was shot in a stairwell on his way to work. The woman was the mother of a man with connections to “Foxtrot”. Framing family members According to SVT, there is no prospect of Rawa Majid being extradited to Sweden. Now, instead, family members have become targets of the violence. The shooting in Stenhagen may have been aimed at people connected to “the Kurdish fox”, according to several Swedish media. The incident is being investigated as attempted murder. – Individuals who may have nothing more to do with the conflict than that they have a common DNA composition are targeted. She was killed when the gang members failed to get hold of her husband, who is said to have been the real target. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) describes the situation in Uppsala as extreme. – Border after border is crossed. – This must be stopped.
