Trond Giske and Jan Christian Vestre are some of the most powerful politicians in the Labor Party. Giske (56) is a leader in Nidaros Social Democratic Forum, and leads the Labor Party’s largest local team. He calls the defeat a “serious signal”. – When the voters speak so clearly, I think the recognition must be that it is not the voters who are being replaced, it is the parties that must change or we as politicians must find a way back to the old trust of the people, Giske told news right after that the first election forecasts were clear. His tone is slightly less sharp. – We must have an open debate about what went wrong. That debate is about the election campaign and politics, says Vestre. Bigger warnings review after historic defeat The Labor Party lost control of dozens of large and small municipalities in the local elections. Among them Oslo, Stavanger and Kristiansand. The defeat is historically great for the party that has dominated Norwegian politics for the past century. Now is the time to examine the reasons. Party leader and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre was this afternoon at a central board meeting after several in the party asked him to resign before the next general election. Others asked for an accident commission. – We will have a broad review and a voter survey, was the conclusion of the meeting according to Støre.

ttn-69

The Labor Party made its worst election in decades.
