Dag-Eilev Fagermo will not continue in his job as head coach in V\u00e5lerenga. The 56-year-old is leaving the club after a weak start to the season. V\u00e5lerenga reports this on its website. This happens a day after the capital club suffered a heavy 0-1 loss to Str\u00f8msgodset. The team has three straight losses in the league and has lost four out of five home games this season. “V\u00e5lerenga Fotball Elite and head coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo have today agreed to end the collaboration,” the club writes in a press release. “Out with Fagermo” The Oslo club is down to 13th place in the Eliteserien. After the loss against Godset, the high-profile coach was met with “Out with Fagermo” shouts from the V\u00e5lerenga fans. – I am grateful that I got a job in V\u00e5lerenga, it was a dream job for me. I am happy that we won bronze, sold players for over 100 million and developed the training facilities significantly. says Fagermo and adds: – It has been tough to turn the squad around, with so many young players, and at the same time achieve good results in the short term. Therefore, the potential is great in V\u00e5lerenga now, but the short-term results are not good enough. Got three years in the job Monday has been hectic meeting business at Valle. This morning, V\u00e5lerenga’s board first met for an ordinary board meeting. This afternoon a meeting was held with the AS, where VIF owner Tor Olav Tr\u00f8im, among others, participated. Fagermo joined V\u00e5lerenga in January 2020. In his first season, he led the club to third place in the series. In 2021, VIF was number seven, and in 2022 they finished number six. The 56-year-old has previously been head coach at, among others, Odd, Str\u00f8msgodset and Notodden.
