For three days, Russian weapons have been raining down on Kyiv. This may have been the response from Ukraine. A number of videos on social media show what are supposed to be drones flying into the Russian capital Moscow. At least one video shows a drone being destroyed in a mid-air explosion. It is said to have been hit by a Russian defense weapon. BIG, WITH WINGS: Still image from a video that will show one of the drones that took part in the attack on Moscow on Tuesday morning. Photo: Telegram/Twitter Neither confirms nor denies Ukrainian authorities have not claimed responsibility for the attack. The Ukrainians have a habit of ducking questions about whether they are invading Russia. That may be the case now as well. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s close adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said in a TV program on Tuesday morning that it might be some of the drones sent by Russia against Ukraine that have changed direction. He says that the Ukrainians are watching the drones in Moscow with great pleasure, and assumes that there will be more to come. At the same time, he denies that Ukraine is behind it. Could be the biggest yet The Russian-language newspaper Meduza claims in social media that as many as 32 drones were involved in the attack. This number has not been confirmed. Meduza further writes that three of the drones are said to have hit residential buildings, and at least two people are said to have been injured. 19 of the drones are said to have been shot down by the Russian air force, while 10 have fallen to the ground. If the figures from Meduza are correct, this is by far the largest known drone attack against Russia so far in the war. Low explosive power Several videos show the same type of drone. They have wings and move relatively slowly across the sky. – It appears that the drones are of the same type as those used against Krasnodar. They must have had the KZ-6 as a warhead, writes analyst Rob Lee at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. The KZ-6 is an old Soviet warhead with 1.8 kilograms of explosives. It is intended for punching holes in reinforced structures such as bunkers. The attack against Krasnodar happened two days ago. It was aimed at an oil installation, writes Reuters. DAMAGED: One of the buildings that was damaged during the attack on Moscow on Tuesday morning. Photo: MAXIM SHEMETOV / Reuters Confirms The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, confirms on Telegram that the city has been subjected to a drone attack. It is written by Ap. – The attack caused insignificant damage to some buildings. No one was seriously injured, writes Sobyanin. The mayor added that the residents of two buildings had been evacuated. The governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, claims that the drones were shot down while they were on their way to Moscow, writes Ap. – Residents in some parts of the Moscow region could hear explosions. This was from our air force, Vorobyov is said to have said. Attack on Putin’s residence? Vorobjov says that five of the drones were shot down in the area of Rybljovskoe embankment. This is in an area where many of Russia’s richest live. Here is also the Novo-Ogaryovo residence of President Vladimir Putin, where he spends a large part of his time, when he is not in his office in the Kremlin in central Moscow. Aleksander Khinstein, who sits in the Russian parliament, writes on Telegram that he has information that one of the drones has fallen not far from President Putin’s residence. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims eight drones were involved in the attack. Furthermore, the ministry claims that five of them were shot down. The last three are said to have been steered off course with the help of electronic means of defence. The ministry calls the drones Ukrainian terrorist attacks.

ttn-69

Just a couple of hours after the Ukrainian capital Kyiv was subjected to a major drone and missile attack, the Russian capital came under fire.
