– There has been a change in the weather in the morning which makes it so slippery. There is ice on the roads and the cars cannot make it on flat ground, says operations manager in the South-West police district, J\u00f8ran Solheim. On Sunday morning, it was decided to close the busy E 39 at Vikes\u00e5 in Rogaland, in the northbound direction. Just before, a car with two passengers slid into the ditch and landed on its side, in Helleland, south of Vikes\u00e5. None of the passengers were injured in the traffic accident. Almost at the same time, the same thing happened at R\u00f8yksund in Karm\u00f8y municipality. Here a car landed with two people on the roof. The people in the car escaped the accident without physical injuries. – There is not much more to do than sprinkle and possibly wait until it gets milder, Solheim said just before 9 o’clock. The police had then received reports of slippery roads from Fitjar in Vestland to Moi in Agder. The Norwegian Road Traffic Center was notified and started spreading. At 9.30 the police reported on Twitter that E 39 was open again.
