The service has long been free, but in the transition to the new app solution, the company charges.  &#8211; We have introduced payment because we want customers to use BankID on the app, says information manager at Telia Daniel Barhom. Photo: Telia Last year, Norwegians used BankID just under 1 billion times.  This corresponds to around 200 times per person.  The price tag for using BankID on mobile with a Telia subscription is therefore now around NOK 200 a year.  Telenor was the first to pay Telenor also charges for the service.  Here the price is half of Telia&#8217;s: NOK 0.49.  The company started charging for it in 2014 to cover operating and maintenance costs of the service.  If you have a Telenor subscription, it costs you around NOK 100 a year to use BankID on your mobile.  Telenor helped develop BankID and was the first company to use the service in 2009. Eventually, everyone will switch to using the new BankID app.  Users must mainly use biometric login with face or thumb.  Pin code is also possible.  &#8211; BankID on mobile was a revolution when it came out in 2009, but now people expect an even simpler BankID than they have today, says Jan Bjerved in BankID BankAxept.  The BankID app must be free to use.
