The area is known for a lot of moose. But the elk calf Jacobsen came across this time made him take up the camera: The picture was posted by Jacobsen on Facebook – where the comment field went hot: “This should probably be reported to the wildlife committee. Didn’t look very good. ” “This is not normal.” But is it really abnormal for the moose to be “naked”? Now the big internet has given the image of moose legs to walk on – and experts have concluded. Observed the elk The photographer, Viggo Jacobsen, took plenty of time to study and take pictures. He noticed that the moose, apart from being a little “poorly dressed”, seemed to be in good shape. – It was a very young elk. The pictures show that it seems healthy and fresh, he says to news. We are used to seeing moose with fur, not almost “naked”. The pictures are not of the same moose. Viggo Jacobsen \/ Erik Karits Jacobsen adds: – The moose ate well and had completely normal reactions in terms of being skeptical of humans. Not given that new fur is ready when summer comes When the elk calf is born it has light brown or reddish brown fur. Then it changes to a more greyish winter coat in the fall. In the spring, the elk changes to a new coat – and goes over to the summer coat. But does that mean it could be in danger of looking naked? Erling Johan Solberg, senior researcher at NINA, says that the image of the rotting elk has wandered among his colleagues today. Photographer Viggo Jacobsen says that the moose seemed to be in good shape. It ate well and was skeptical of people. Photo: Viggo Jabobsen He can also tell that they have received a request from the Norwegian Environment Agency regarding the photo. Like the photographer, he thinks the moose, despite its slightly special appearance, is healthy. – Our conclusion is that it is about to lose its winter coat. Removal of moose is jerky. However, the researcher does not rule out that there may be a disease. – It can of course be a question of a skin disease, but when this happens in the same period as it loses fur, then it is probably the change of fur that is the cause. That the elk becomes “naked” also has a natural explanation: – It falls off small pieces of fur at a time. It is not a given that the new coat is ready right below, says Solberg and assures: – The coat will probably grow out eventually.
\n

\n
ttn-69 <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Viggo Jacobsen was out for a walk in Valnesfjord in Fauske municipality this weekend.
