She moved to Oslo as a 16-year-old and since then her life has been characterized by hectic days with studies and work. In recent years, she has worked as a bartender, fitness instructor and trained to become a police officer. For the 25-year-old, participating in “Norway’s Toughest” was more than just a competition. Three weeks on a remote platform, without a mobile phone or watch, and with a lot of time to think, gave Elizabeth peace in a completely new way. I could forget all about stress and everyday life, and focus on what happened then and there. Because even though the competitions were physically tough, Elizabeth felt she could relax mentally. The fact that she often ended up at the bottom of the results list meant that she learned to work with herself in a new way. – I have always been extremely strict with myself. I learned that it doesn’t help to sulk that I performed poorly, I just had to pull myself together. It made me realize that there are so many other things in life that are important. There are many ways to have a hard time, but none of the physical things break me, she says. I have been on trips alone and cycled far up Norway. I have found that I need to get away every now and then and relax. The most important thing she takes away from the competition is to believe in herself. – To be true to one’s own values \u200b\u200band who one wants to be. Elizabeth hopes that this may be the year that a woman emerges victorious from the competition. – Absolutely. I know us ladies are tough, so it would have been nice if one of them had won.
