This agreement will impact seven subsidiaries and outlines a minimum of 4,525 employee departures\u201414 less than originally anticipated due to last-minute adjustments in some divisions such as Telef\u00f3nica Global Solutions, Telef\u00f3nica Innovaci\u00f3n Digital, and Telef\u00f3nica SA.<\/p>\n<h2>Fewer Layoffs Than Expected<\/h2>\n<p>The agreement reached signifies a notable 25.6% reduction compared to the initial figure of 6,088 proposed layoffs. This figure only represents a minimum estimate, as Telef\u00f3nica projects around 5,500 employees may opt for voluntary exits. This development indicates a lesser impact than previously announced.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Of the planned layoffs, a significant portion will stem from companies associated with the Related Companies Agreement (CEV), estimating at least 3,765 departures. This includes 2,925 layoffs from Telef\u00f3nica de Espa\u00f1a, which constitutes nearly 33% of its workforce, as well as 720 from Telef\u00f3nica M\u00f3viles and 120 from Telef\u00f3nica Soluciones.<\/p>\n<h2>Economic Conditions and Membership Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Compensation packages vary based on workers&#8217; birth years. Employees born between 1969 and 1971 will receive 68% of their regulatory salary until age 63 and 38% thereafter. Notably, employees in global divisions can benefit from bonuses ranging from \u20ac5,000 to \u20ac18,000, which are twice the initially discussed amounts.<\/p>\n<h2>Staggered Departure Process<\/h2>\n<p>The departure timeline will vary by subsidiary. For related subsidiaries, the application window will run from December 29 to January 26, whereas for global subsidiaries, it will extend to January 29. Movistar+&#8217;s application period begins on January 7 and concludes on February 6.<\/p>\n<h2>Spend to Save<\/h2>\n<p>Telef\u00f3nica estimates that the ERE will cost approximately \u20ac2.5 billion before taxes, with around \u20ac2.3 billion earmarked for Telef\u00f3nica Espa\u00f1a and Movistar Plus+. These job cuts play a crucial role in the company\u2019s <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telefonica.com\/es\/sala-comunicacion\/prensa\/telefonica-se-transforma-para-crecer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Transform &#038; Grow strategic plan<\/a> for 2026-2030, aimed at achieving annual savings of up to \u20ac3 billion by 2030. Notably, they predict an annual savings of about \u20ac600 million starting in 2028.<\/p>\n<p>In conjunction with the ERE, Telef\u00f3nica has sustained collective agreements with unions until 2030, committing to a 1.5% annual salary increase. Employees in associated subsidiaries will also receive a one-time additional payment of \u20ac300 in October, and significant benefits enhancements.
