The snow glistens on the mountain tops in the autumn sun. For the most enthusiastic, this means that the ski season is underway. – It was very, very great! Photo: Privat In the Hurrungane mountain area in Jotunheimen, there was between 10 and 30 centimeters of fresh snow on the trip, which went from 1,200 to 1,400 meters in altitude. – You must be careful to walk where there is a bit of soft ground. Avoid where it is rocky, says the experienced ski enthusiast. Sun and stay We are heading into a period of more high pressure weather in the whole of southern Norway, says state meteorologist Julie V\u00e5gane. – There will be good periods of sun and warm weather, more than we have had recently. October is the 95th consecutive month he has gone skiing. It started with him finding out if it was possible to go skiing in August and September, when there is the least amount of snow. After that, he hasn’t stopped. – In September, I often use my flea market skis that I bought for NOK 50, so it’s not that dangerous, he says.
