The local government will utilize the census sections of Alicante as the basis for identifying areas that are considered “saturated.” Annually, the situation will be evaluated to adjust these limits accordingly.<\/p>\n

In areas classified as already “saturated” (i.e., those exceeding the 0.187 limit), new tourist accommodations will \u00a0not be permitted\u00a0. The local administration distinguishes between different types of accommodations, stating that only three, four, and five-star hotels will be allowed exceptions, even in saturated neighborhoods. For three-star hotels, a maximum of 0.32 tourist places per inhabitant applies, but no licenses will be limited for higher-class establishments.<\/p>\n

The second measure mandates that any tourist accommodation located in residential buildings must provide “independent access.” Similar rules have been adopted in various cities to foster a healthy relationship between neighbors and visitors.<\/p>\n
