In May 2026, the city of \u00a0Frontignan\u00a0 will host the \u00a010th edition\u00a0 of the \u201c\u00a0Let\u2019s move our borders\u00a0\u201d project. The event aims to raise awareness among the population, particularly young people, about the advantages of \u00a0European\u00a0 and \u00a0international mobility\u00a0.<\/p>\n
If the time is for questioning the usefulness of Europe, it is different in Frontignan. Until \u00a0May 31, 2027\u00a0, the town of Frontignan is welcoming four \u00a0volunteers\u00a0, aged 18 to 30, from \u00a0European mobility\u00a0. Their project? Organizing an \u00a0international youth mobility fair\u00a0 in May 2026 as part of the 10th<\/sup> edition of the \u201cLet\u2019s move our borders\u201d project.<\/p>\n During this period, these \u00a0European volunteers\u00a0 will benefit from the support of municipal services in carrying out their individual projects. *\u201cTheir mission will be to inform young Frontignan residents of the principles and realities of international mobility,\u201d* indicates the elected twinning delegate \u00a0Georges Forner\u00a0.<\/p>\n Funding for the reception of young European volunteers is provided by a \u00a0European grant\u00a0 amounting to \u00a0\u20ac59,231\u00a0 paid by the \u00a0Erasmus + agency\u00a0. *\u201cThe city did not have to pay any additional money,\u201d* adds Forner.<\/p>\n Since 2008, the city of Frontignan has actively participated in the \u00a0European Solidarity Corps\u00a0 system, designed for young people residing in a \u00a0member state\u00a0 of the European Union. Beneficiaries of this action can participate in local projects of general interest in another member country, lasting from \u00a02 weeks to 12 months\u00a0. They will assume their commitment within educational establishments (1)<\/sup> and associations (2)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n The \u00a0European Solidarity Corps\u00a0 system focuses on local projects of general interest, contributing to the well-being of young people through non-profit activities in the \u00a0social\u00a0, \u00a0sporting\u00a0, \u00a0environmental\u00a0, or \u00a0cultural fields\u00a0. *\u201cThese European volunteers are doing extraordinary work with our young people,\u201d* declares Mayor \u00a0Michel Arrouy\u00a0. *\u201cWe must also encourage our young people to go away and discover the world. In terms of learning about life, it is useful. It is important to do it before entering professional life.\u201d*<\/p>\n The Frontignan councilor challenges the common misconception: *\u201cWe often wrongly think that Europe is too far away. There are concrete actions of the \u00a0European Union\u00a0 which are carried out in our municipalities. It is a set of \u00a0financing\u00a0 which enables projects to be realized without costing the community anything.\u201d*<\/p>\n As a host organization, the city of \u00a0Frontignan\u00a0 takes charge of the management and payment of all costs linked to the reception of young people in accordance with the amounts set by the \u00a0European Commission\u00a0. Thus, the \u00a0food package\u00a0 amounts to \u00a0\u20ac300 monthly\u00a0. Volunteers are fully reimbursed for travel costs, internet use, mobile telephony, accommodation charges, payment of vacations for French courses, and also visa costs, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n As a reminder, the town of Frontignan has been accredited as an \u00a0Erasmus + agency\u00a0 for the reception of \u00a0European Solidarity Corps\u00a0, commonly called \u00a0European volunteers\u00a0.
