For instance, the Lanzarote\u2013La Graciosa interconnection is being planned for the Canary Islands, while the Mallorca\u2013Menorca connection in the Balearic Islands aims to reinforce energy supplies and encourage renewable integration. Overall, the plan indicates an increase of \u00a06.3% in submarine line lengths\u00a0 by 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the plan encompasses the repowering of \u00a06,000 kilometers\u00a0 of existing circuits and enhancements to \u00a09,500 kilometers\u00a0 of transmission lines, which totals roughly \u00a021% of the current network\u00a0.
