Almost \u00a07,000 people\u00a0 have been detained, over \u00a05,000 firearms\u00a0 seized, and around \u00a072 tons of drugs\u00a0 confiscated\u2014these are the staggering results reported by the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection<\/b> on September 5 regarding the \u00a0North border operation\u00a0. This extensive ongoing initiative was launched on February 5, 2025, designed to implement coordinated efforts at Mexico’s northern frontier, resulting in significant seizures of weaponry and narcotics.<\/p>\n

As detailed in recent updates, the \u00a0North border operation\u00a0 has successfully led to the arrest of \u00a06,940 individuals\u00a0, the confiscation of \u00a05,378 firearms\u00a0, \u00a0937,793 cartridges\u00a0 of various calibers, and \u00a025,464 loaders\u00a0. The operation has also achieved the seizure of \u00a04,683 vehicles\u00a0 and \u00a0844 properties\u00a0 linked to illicit activities, underscoring the concerted efforts being made to combat organized crime.<\/p>\n

Specific actions in \u00a0Mexicali\u00a0 involved the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of three short firearms, loaders, cartridges, and methamphetamine. In collaborative efforts across \u00a0Tijuana\u00a0, \u00a0Mexicali\u00a0, and \u00a0Rosarito\u00a0, eleven more arrests occurred, along with various seizures, highlighting the ongoing battle against drug trafficking.<\/p>\n

In \u00a0Sinaloa\u00a0, the \u00a0Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection\u00a0 reported identifying and disqualifying eight areas associated with the production of synthetic drugs in \u00a0Culiac\u00e1n\u00a0 and \u00a0Cosal\u00e1\u00a0. This resulted in the confiscation of nearly \u00a03,890 liters\u00a0 of chemical substances used for methamphetamine manufacturing. Additionally, in \u00a0Navolato\u00a0, authorities arrested four individuals and confiscated several firearms and ammunition.<\/p>\n

In \u00a0Sonora\u00a0, operations unfolded in \u00a0Splice\u00a0 and \u00a0Nogales\u00a0. Significant seizures included a vehicle, firearms, and an extensive haul of drugs. In \u00a0Nogales\u00a0, a staggering \u00a045,000 liters\u00a0 of hydrocarbons were confiscated alongside several trucks and vehicles, demonstrating the scale of operations aimed at curbing organized crime’s profitability.<\/p>\n
