It does not attract dirt or fingerprints.

The Oppo Reno14 5G ticks all the boxes when it comes to design: visual appeal, exclusivity, and fantastic comfort for extended usage without discomfort. Another well-considered design feature is the camera module, which protrudes very little and is not merely an addition; it is part of the same glass piece as the rest of the rear , ensuring a seamless visual transition between these two parts.

The same excellence found in the rear design is mirrored in the frame. It’s delicate, smooth, and extremely pleasant to the touch. The material is aerospace-grade aluminum . Given the device’s slim width and thickness of only 7.42 mm, the Oppo Reno14 5G is very comfortable to hold while also being secure. The aluminum frame provides resistance to falls, complemented by IP67, IP68, and IP69 certifications along with a platinum-coated USB connector to enable underwater use. In fact, one of the camera’s functions allows capturing videos and photos effortlessly underwater, although it’s always advisable to be aware of the specific conditions stipulated by the manufacturer for such uses.

Display: A High-Quality Experience

Regardless of how impressive a smartphone appears at first glance, the core experience lies within the display. However, some drawbacks exist. We’ve noticed the viewing angles could improve, adding excessive warmth to the panel when viewed from an angle. Additionally, the standard brightness of 600 nits is slightly lower than some competing models in this segment.

It also offers HDR10+ certification, 10-bit color depth (with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space), and 3840 Hz PWM, not forgetting the expected aids and improvements for night vision and blue light reduction. Additionally, we can manage whether to maintain the maximum panel resolution or switch the color mode of the display.

A noteworthy point is the touch panel’s responsiveness , which remains perfect even with wet hands, proven during tests at the pool, where we navigated through the interface effortlessly.

Under the display, a built-in fingerprint reader is present, which is quick and reliable, much like the facial recognition feature. Moreover, there’s also an IR sensor for remote control usage.

In terms of audio, the device features dual stereo speakers ; however, there’s a noticeable predominance of the bottom speaker, which serves exclusive audio purposes. The sound is powerful, with strong mids and impressive balance across other frequencies, although a bit more immersive sound would be beneficial.

In addition to the stereo speakers, music can be streamed wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4. However, those expecting a 3.5 mm headphone jack will be disappointed; it is not present. Wi-Fi 6 is included.

Performance and Battery: A Marvel with 6,000 mAh

Oppo makes an intriguing choice with the Reno14 5G by integrating the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 , the same chip used in the previous generation. Notably, this was just launched a few months prior in the Reno13 series. It’s hardly a cause for concern, especially within the competitive mid-range segment.

In day-to-day usage with the Oppo Reno14 5G—be it for browsing, using the photo/video camera, gaming, or streaming content—it delivers maximum fluidity thanks to both the processor’s power and the good optimization of the ColorOS overlay on Android 15.

Available configurations for the new Oppo with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 (with 8 cores and ARM G615 MC6@1400MHz GPU) are two: 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM paired with either 256 or 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, but without the option to expand storage through external memory cards.

Benchmark test results fall within the expected range.
