Then I discovered it had two layers, with one containing all the accessories for the vertical cleaning vacuum and another for the wet-cleaning accessory for textiles. It also includes several elements that convert it into a handheld vacuum like Dyson’s, making it useful for both floors and upholstery. Essentially, it just lacks the ability to turn into a robot vacuum (spoiler: it doesn’t).

Everything seems made from quality, robust plastic. The connections between pieces feel solid, and it doesn’t skimp on details, like a holder for all components next to the base. Given the extensive list of accessories, let’s focus on the design particulars and how they affect daily cleaning scenarios.

As a floor scrubber, the device appears somewhat bulky, resembling older model stick vacuums. It can feel heavy when you lift it from the compact base meant for charging and self-cleaning.

It features a comfortable handle with control buttons, while the body houses the battery, motor, filters, and the dirty water tank, all well-integrated and easy to detach, but inevitably adding some weight. Notably, there’s a color display on the top showing mode, battery life, or any issues.

At the bottom is a cleaning roller made of textile resembling a towel, paired with a plastic strip like that of window cleaners, allowing simultaneous mopping and drying. An easily detachable clean water tank occupies the upper part. Despite its size and weight, the assembly and rolling of wheels make it moderately agile during use. Notably, it can be laid completely flat, allowing it to fit under tight spaces for cleaning.

Moreover, the more you incline it, the faster it glides. While it’s comfortable to maneuver, those with age or muscular issues (my mother has both) might find it tiring.

Switching to its handheld vertical vacuum function like Dyson’s is straightforward: remove the vacuum’s skeleton, insert the battery at the bottom, attach the component with the display and motor at the top, and add the desired accessory (from the extension tube to a floor roller or a simple tube for upholstery or car cleaning). This process takes mere seconds, ensuring a secure fit. Here, the design is streamlined, with weight well-distributed, achieving an mobility that allows for swift handling.

The trigger activates and deactivates the device (no need to keep it pressed), and the display allows for mode adjustments. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of accessories available, enabling it to compete directly with other models in its segment:

A metal tube serving as an extender for comfortable floor cleaning while standing.

A multi-surface brush for cleaning various floors and carpets, featuring a combination of bristles and plastics arranged in a spiral.

A mini motorized brush for dry cleaning of textiles like mattresses, sofas, or upholstery.

An angled brush for dusting corners and crevices.

Just the previous accessories would be impressive, offering a vacuum for mopping and cleaning floors, as well as another for upholstery of all types, or even dusting furniture. But the Dreame H15 Mix has it all: if just vacuuming the sofa isn’t enough, you can find a wireless wet cleaner for textiles in the box.

Once you properly assemble the components (no guesswork involved; everything is clear), it becomes convenient to transport it with its 1.85-meter flexible hose and a nozzle. Yes, with a battery, the motor part, and a bit of ingenuity, Dreame has designed the LEGO of vacuums.

Thorough Cleaning for the Entire House

A versatile vacuum like this has been a godsend: I’ve vacuumed and mopped floors from the terrace to the kitchen, deeply cleaned my mattress, and even tackled the upholstery of my sofa. The cherry on top was also cleaning my car’s interior.

The first test was with the mopping function, and my experience matched that of the Dreame H15 Pro: generally good, especially recommended for vacuuming and mopping tiled floors (as wood floors don’t fare well with water).

After adding detergent and filling the clean water tank, I took it out, powered it on, and opted between turbo or Smart mode, which intelligently calibrates suction and mopping based on detected dirt, with the latter being the more intriguing option as it optimizes performance and battery.

While it’s not feather-light nor the most maneuverable, it glides easily on the floor. Plus, given that the base with the roller is generously sized, three passes and the hallway is clean. However, the larger size can be a double-edged sword: it saves time but won’t fit in tight spaces. In any case, in about ten minutes, I can clean a 60-square-meter apartment of standard dirt and dry stains.

It tackles more than just a droplet of dried soda; whether you spill a cup of coffee or a spoonful of tomato sauce while cooking, it removes it all. Even though the clean water tank isn’t particularly big, it dispenses water so efficiently that it lasts long.

A plus for those tight on time: the floor dries in just a minute, allowing you to walk on it again. While it doesn’t vacuum quite as effectively as the dedicated suction accessory and isn’t equivalent to a mop, it comes close. It’s perfect for keeping the floor tidy on days when you lack the time for a complete house clean.

The handheld vacuum function is astonishing in terms of power, autonomy, and brush quality. In a house with two large dogs, fur appears everywhere. With this vacuum, we manage to achieve truly clean floors without relying on turbo mode. It handles paddle sand, breadcrumb spills, and all the fur balls that wander about.

Of course, you have to run it yourself, and it can’t clean areas where it won’t fit, but it’s so easy to handle that cleaning the floor takes less time than previously mentioned even if you’re targeting less accessible or dirtier spots. Not to mention the brush’s lighting, an absolute bonus for spotting dust and dirt. See that tiled floor covered in hair? You wouldn’t notice it under the kitchen light.

The multi-surface brush works well on parquet and tiled floors, but its configuration shines most on carpets. For embedded fur, multiple passes and using turbo mode are required. The same applies when transitioning the stick vacuum into a powerful handheld version.

Simply remove the extender and put on the mini motorized brush. The experience varied when cleaning our two cars: one is often cleaned, used by the dogs, while the other is only occasionally cleaned and gets muddy and sandy from paddle courts.

For a moderately dirty car, this vacuum excels at removing a few hairs and grime, but for one as filthy as mine, hitting turbo mode is necessary and may lead to battery depletion along the way. Cleaning my Polo resembles industrial work at a gas station. Regardless, I managed to clean half the car, finding the mini brush and the corner brush incredibly helpful.

Having plenty of accessories is delightful for cleaning a variety of items: from the car and baseboards to lamps and even between radiator pipes.

With the wet-cleaning kit, I’ve conducted deep cleans on the sofa and car seats. In short, it’s a marvel. It may not reach industrial-level cleaning, nor is it designed for that, but for home scenarios, it performs excellently.

Being wireless presents a huge advantage since you aren’t tethered to an outlet (a frequent struggle with the Anker Eufy E28), allowing for much more comfortable maneuvering without sacrificing power. First, fill the tank with water and a bit of cleaning liquid, slot in the brush after removing its protector, and you’re set. The system has a lever to dispense soapy water on textiles that we then scrub with the brush and finally dry to some extent by gliding over it to create a vacuum effect.

I’ve used it for various stains, from grease marks left by fingers on the sofa arms to unknown grime on car seats (spoiler: sitting with a saltwater bathing suit isn’t the best, and entering sweaty after paddle isn’t optimal either), and it removes everything. The surface dries moderately well and smells fresh.

The only drawbacks I could note are that if the hose were a little longer and the brush a bit bigger, it would be even better: while you can clean the sofa arms perfectly, larger sections like a sofa or a mattress require a bit more reach (in fact, we used a regular brush to speed up cleaning). Nonetheless, if you’re merely targeting a stain, it’s more than adequate; just bring it closer and you’re good.

Superb Battery Life

With a box as large as a refrigerator’s, one might expect a spare battery, but that’s not the case. It’s a shame because while it’s nice to switch heads and batteries between units, having a spare for those deep cleaning weekends would be handy—one for mopping seats, the other for vacuuming everything else.

Nonetheless, the battery is a powerhouse. The technical specs promise up to 75 minutes of run time, although these figures are typically generous based on lower-ambition test conditions.

In mop mode at turbo for 10 minutes, about 20% battery is used. To give you an idea, for a 60-square-meter house, it suits larger homes. Typically, you won’t need turbo mode but rather Smart mode, which also ramps up to max power if necessary.

Using it as a Dyson-style vertical vacuum in turbo, we found it consumes 50% of the battery in 10 minutes, then automatically lowering to Smart mode for an additional 15 minutes in a sort of intelligent management. In 25 minutes, it drops from 100% to 20%, at which point the vacuum alerts you of low battery.

Finally, in wet-cleaning textile mode, we achieved 40 minutes of continuous use at max power, sufficient to clean the front seats of my car thoroughly.

One interesting observation is that while pushing the vacuum to its limits in turbo mode, the battery does heat up if you keep it running for extended periods. It’s noticeable, but not concerning. As for charging, it goes from 0 to 100% in about three and a half hours.

An App You Don’t Really Need

This vacuum cleaner is loaded with features, including a mobile app, but it can’t autonomously clean for you. Anticipating my experience with the Dreame H15 Pro, I didn’t install it until a week later and had no issues: I could clean just as effectively by hand and manipulate all accessories, as well as activate self-cleaning. Simply put, the app is entirely optional: the buttons on the panel and handle suffice.

To summarize, the app is a bonus, a way to customize some features or gain additional insights. Along with usage stats, it allows you to access manuals, check the vacuum’s condition, set cleaning modes, and get alerts for full tanks. Frankly, with the default settings, it works just fine, but it’s a nice touch.

Maintenance

This vacuum is a 3-in-1 (really, a 4-in-1 since it can double as a handheld vacuum by removing the extender) and that means more maintenance tasks than usual. The good news is that the vacuum assists in some tasks, and generally, it is easy and quick, minimizing dirt exposure.

The most notable feature in the scrubber vacuum is its auto-cleaning base, which we can activate after each use, cleaning and drying the roller using hot air to maintain hygiene and prevent odors. It may seem trivial, but if you’ve ever used a mop-wielding vacuum, you know that damp mops can develop a turtle-tank smell. Thanks to this function, it stays fresh even with quick cleaning sessions.

For the rest, it’s all about emptying and refilling tanks. Pull the lever to remove the clean water tank (translucent) to refill it nearly every use since it’s utilized for both mopping and cleaning floors. When the tank is full, we receive a notification to pull the lever to remove it, pull another lever, and empty it into the toilet. A heads-up: mixing solids and liquids can produce not-so-pleasant odors. Fortunately, the cleaning accessory helps pick up hairs tangled in the filter.

When used as a vertical vacuum, the key maintenance steps involve checking the solid waste tank (transparent) and filling markers. When it crosses the “Max” line, we pull the lever to remove it, rotate the lid, and empty it into the trash. Just typical cleaning. Of course, you’ll need to clean brushes every so often.

This also applies to the wet-cleaning accessory. It consists of two tanks, one for clean water, the other for dirty water. To empty and refill, we simply pull to detach them. Everything is intuitive.

Dreame H15 Mix: Xataka’s Opinion

I tested this vacuum at my partner’s home, where its arrival was akin to giving a child a Disneyland trip.
