Understanding Invisible Disabilities: Ang\u00e8le’s Story<\/h2>\n

In \u00a0Spain\u00a0, it is estimated that about \u00a06% of minors\u00a0 live with Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity (ADHD).<\/b> Year after year, the number of children and adolescents with learning disorders such as \u00a0dyslexia\u00a0, \u00a0dyspraxia\u00a0, or \u00a0dysphasia\u00a0 is increasing significantly.<\/p>\n

These types of disorders greatly affect \u00a0academic\u00a0, \u00a0emotional\u00a0, and \u00a0social development\u00a0, even though they are not always \u00a0evident to the naked eye\u00a0. Thus, they are often seen as “invisible disabilities” since there are no physical traits that suggest a child is affected.<\/p>\n

This invisibility leads to \u00a0misunderstandings\u00a0, \u00a0stigmatization\u00a0, and in the most serious cases, to \u00a0isolation\u00a0 or \u00a0bullying\u00a0. Proper support and respect for the unique needs of these children can make a tremendous difference. However, many families are raising their voices against a health and educational system that still struggles to understand what is not seen.<\/p>\n

Ang\u00e8le<\/b>, the daughter of the French actor \u00a0Bruno Solo\u00a0, shares this experience. Recently, she turned \u00a020\u00a0 and revealed her story in a video posted on her \u00a0TikTok\u00a0 account. “I have multiple learning disorders and ADHD,” she states candidly, expressing her regret for living with a condition that many fail to comprehend.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s an invisible disability. People don’t see it, so I have to make stupid comments to help them understand me,\u201d<\/b> Ang\u00e8le confesses. Her childhood was far from typical. “I grew up disconnected, either alone or in the company of adults,” she recalls. From a young age, she attended speech therapists, psychologists, and psychomotor specialists, but rather than receiving proper support, she felt \u00a0violated\u00a0.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey stole my childhood, trust, and self-esteem.<\/b> Some professionals told me appalling things. \u00a0I am still traumatized by the psychiatrists who treated me poorly.\u201d\u00a0 It was not until she turned 17 that she could finally label her experience, after traveling several times from \u00a0Paris\u00a0 to \u00a0Lyon\u00a0 to secure an accurate diagnosis.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor 13 years, they intimidated me. I was the \u00a0weird\u00a0, \u00a0lonely\u00a0, the \u00a0rejected\u00a0. I sat alone at recess and was bullied for hours,\u201d<\/b> she remembers. The situation escalated to such an extent that she had to leave school. Only the presence of a special education monitor, whom she still remembers fondly, marked a pivotal change in her life.<\/p>\n

The repercussions of her condition have lingered at every stage of her life. \u201cIt can take me \u00a010 minutes\u00a0 to write a single sentence. I don’t know how to tell time, count money, or navigate my surroundings.<\/b> I had to learn how to use the subway with the help of my mother and brother. Due to ADHD and dyspraxia, I cannot obtain a driving license,\u201d<\/b> she explains.<\/p>\n

Ang\u00e8le had to abandon her great passion, \u00a0classical dance\u00a0, due to her physical difficulties and health challenges. \u201cI learned to tie my shoes in fifth grade.<\/b> During gymnastics, my nerves would act up. I was often the last one chosen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through her testimony, Ang\u00e8le has courageously shared her fears and aims to help thousands of young people facing similar situations. She has found solace in her new classmates at the \u00a0Theater School\u00a0 and in the personal growth work she has undertaken in recent years. \u201cNow I fight every day. I have an incredible family and an exceptional psychologist … A year ago, I wouldn’t have been able to do this,\u201d<\/b> she concludes.<\/p>\n

Ang\u00e8le\u2019s narrative reflects the struggles of countless children who endure silent battles against disorders that may not be visible, yet cause immense suffering. In a society often quick to reject the unknown, stories like hers serve as vital reminders that these conditions deserve our \u00a0support\u00a0, \u00a0empathy\u00a0, and \u00a0visibility\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
