\u201cGiven their speed\u2014they were military, I don\u2019t know at what speed they were going, but they were much faster than us\u2014I thought it was safest to turn around. I greatly apologize for the aggressive maneuver. It took me by surprise. This is not normal.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

An Unexpected Event Under Investigation<\/h2>\n

In response to the situation, the \u00a0FAA\u00a0 launched an investigation on Monday. According to SkyWest Airlines<\/a>, despite being given permission to land, the flight had to perform a \u00a0frustrated approach maneuver\u00a0 upon sighting another aircraft in its flight path.
