Everything suggests that this unit has been assigned to the <a rel=\"noopener, noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.airuniversity.af.edu\/CASI\/Display\/Article\/2593318\/second-combat-brigade-of-prc-air-force-likely-receives-stealth-fighter\/\" target=\"_blank\">172nd Air Brigade<\/a>. For China, which <a rel=\"noopener, noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/media.defense.gov\/2024\/Dec\/18\/2003615520\/-1\/-1\/0\/MILITARY-AND-SECURITY-DEVELOPMENTS-INVOLVING-THE-PEOPLES-REPUBLIC-OF-CHINA-2024.PDF\" target=\"_blank\">has been preparing its technological leap in defense for decades<\/a>, this could be a very important step.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 1 --> <\/p>\n<h2>Badges, Dark Paint, and Improved Sensors Appear<\/h2>\n<p>The images not only depict the J-20s with a darker body, reminiscent of black, but also reveal significant structural changes. Under the nose, a redesigned version of the monitoring electro-optic system is noticeable, featuring a more compact dome and 360-degree coverage, <a rel=\"noopener, noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/products\/f-35-lightning-ii-eots.html\" target=\"_blank\">similar to the EOTS<\/a> of the F-35.<\/p>\n<p>The new paint scheme remains careful not to cover the edges of mobile surfaces, air intakes, and the tip of the radome. However, the introduction of a two-seater version, like the one being showcased in recent images, presents a feature absent in any Western fifth-generation fighter currently in service. The paramount question now rests on how many of these biplaza versions will comprise the total fleet of J-20s\u2014and what precise role they will play in actual operations.
